Hamirpur, April 25:Panic gripped the Hamirpur district on Friday after an anonymous bomb threat was issued targeting the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office. The alarming message prompted immediate action by law enforcement, with police and a bomb squad—accompanied by a dog unit—rushing to the scene and evacuating the premises as a precaution.
According to reports, the threat was received from an unidentified source, claiming that a bomb had been planted at the DC office. As soon as the information reached the authorities, a high alert was declared. All officers and staff members present in the building were swiftly evacuated to safety.
A thorough search operation was launched across the entire office complex by the bomb disposal squad and canine unit. No suspicious object had been reported at the time of writing.
Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh addressed the media, confirming that the threat is being taken seriously and that police have been instructed to begin a full investigation. He also mentioned that just a day prior, the administration had issued specific security protocols concerning the DC office, underscoring the importance of preparedness in such situations.
