Truth Unveiled: No Attack, No Conspiracy — Nishant Sharma’s Allegations Proven False
SIT investigation exposes fabricated claims aimed at defaming Himachal police and officials
Dharamshala, April 19: In a dramatic twist to the much-hyped Nishant Sharma case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted its final report, revealing that the entire story of an alleged attack was fabricated. The SIT’s Cancellation Report, filed in court, confirmed that no incident occurred on October 27, 2023, on the McLeodganj-Bhagsunag road as claimed by Sharma.
According to the investigation, the case was nothing more than an attempt to defame senior police officers and government officials. The report debunks all allegations, stating clearly that there was no attack, no threat, and no criminal involvement of any IPS officers, including the then Director General of Police, Sanjay Kundu.
False Claims, Real Investigations
Nishant Sharma had alleged via email that he and his family were attacked by individuals connected to former IPS officer Sachin Sridhar and lawyer Keshav Sridhar. He also accused DGP Kundu and SP Kangra of conspiring to evict him from his business premises and obstructing the investigation.
Following widespread attention and a suo motu action by the Himachal Pradesh High Court, the state government formed an SIT led by IG Santosh Patial.
What the SIT Found
-
No evidence of any attack was found in the CCTV footage or local inquiries.
-
The timeline of events, including Sharma’s message to a friend before the alleged incident, exposed inconsistencies.
-
Call records (CDR) and tower data did not support claims of a conspiracy.
-
Locals, shopkeepers, and hotel staff interviewed denied any knowledge of the incident.
-
Allegations of CCTV tampering were proven false.
The probe also highlighted a business dispute over Sri Chamunda Laboratories between Sharma and Keshav Sridhar. The case is currently pending before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
Police-Led Mediation Misconstrued
The SIT clarified that calls between DGP Kundu and Keshav Sridhar were related to police-led mediation, a lawful method aimed at resolving civil disputes. No criminal angle or collusion was established.
What Happens Next?
With the entire narrative proven fictitious, the focus now shifts to whether the Himachal Pradesh Police will take legal action against Nishant Sharma for:
-
Filing a false complaint
-
Wasting government resources
-
Misleading the judiciary
The case serves as a stark reminder of how misusing legal processes for personal gain can backfire — especially when the facts speak louder than fabricated claims.
