Solan, April 08: In a moment of pride for the Solan Police, three dedicated officers were awarded the prestigious DGP Disc by the Director General of Police (DGP), Himachal Pradesh, in recognition of their exceptional service and commitment to crime control. The awardees include Sub Inspector (Late) Vinod Bhagta, Head Constable Dinesh Kumar, and Head Constable Jagdish Kumar.
Sub Inspector Late Vinod Bhagta, who worked with the Intelligence and Security Wing, was lauded for his outstanding management during VVIP programs and elections. His efforts in exposing multiple cases under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, Excise Act, and Gambling Act were particularly noteworthy. Bhagta’s contributions were instrumental in ensuring the success of key law enforcement operations during his tenure.
Head Constable Dinesh Kumar, serving in the Special Investigation Unit of Solan, was recognized for his remarkable work in investigating over 50 cases related to NDPS and Excise Acts in 2022. His relentless efforts led to the recovery of a large quantity of illicit substances, including chitta, charas, poppy husk, and illegal liquor, helping curb illegal trade and making a significant impact on public safety.
Meanwhile, Head Constable Jagdish Kumar, working in the Cyber Cell of Solan, was honored for his role in solving more than 50 cybercrime cases. His skillful use of advanced technical tools like Call Detail Records (CDR), IP Detail Records (IPDR), and social media analysis led to the successful arrest of numerous suspects. Kumar’s efforts also earned him the ‘Cyber Investigator Badge’ for his efficiency in investigating cyber-related offenses.
The recognition of these officers highlights not only their individual excellence but also the collective dedication of the Solan Police in maintaining law and order. Their contributions have reinforced the positive image of the police department, making significant strides in crime control and public safety.
