Massive Solar Heist in Assam: ₹2 Crore Equipment Stolen
A significant theft occurred at the Majerchar Chalakura Micro-Grid Solar Power Plant in Dhubri, Assam, involving the theft of solar batteries, modules, and other necessary equipment valued at over ₹2 crore. The stolen commodities were likely sold on the illicit market, according to authorities. Billal Hussain was taken into custody by the police after they conducted a raid after receiving a report from Sasanka Sarma, Assistant General Manager (Project). Nonetheless, Komor Chand Dewani, the major suspect, is still at large. Searches are still being conducted to find Dewani and retrieve the stolen goods. Investigations are ongoing, thus Hussain has been remanded to district jail.
