10 new development blocks formed in Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh government also notified new Panchayat Samitis
Shimla: The state government has issued a notification to create ten new development blocks to strengthen rural development. Nihri, Dhanotu, Churag in Mandi District, Tilodhar in Sirmaur, Baroh, Palampur, Surani in Kangra, Bhuntar in Kullu, Kotkhai in Shimla and Patta development blocks in Solan have been notified.
Secretary Panchayati Raj Department has issued a notification on Thursday. These Panchayat Samitis will not affect the scope of work of the old elected representatives till their term is completed.
The newly formed Panchayat Samitis will start their work after the upcoming general elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
The new Panchayat Samitis will play an important role in planning and implementing various development programs including infrastructure development, agriculture, health, education and social welfare.
